Mining equipment analysis and design

Static nonlinear contact finite element analysis or dynamic finite element analysis of structures to determine:
  • Stress ranges
  • Peak deflections
  • Contact gap openings
  • Bolt forces (including the effects of bolt preload and prying action)
  • Natural frequencies and mode shapes
  • Response to harmonic excitation

The above finite element results can be used to assess:
  • Design fatigue life
  • Sealing effectiveness of bolted joints
  • Effect of parameter and design variations
