| Two electrically driven mobile cable reeler variants were designed. The reelers are used to store, reel and unreel heavy-current electrical cables that are used in marine applications. The reeler frames allow for transfer by either forklift or crane. The project involved the design of structural components, as well as the selection and integration of bearings, electrical motors and gearboxes. Fabrication drawings were generated using CAD. The reelers were fabricated and successfully tested by others. |  |
